Fusing Calligraphy's Depth with Dance Legacies of Duncan & Fuller

Calligraphy transcends mere writing, embodying profound aesthetic values, with each stroke infused with the writer's emotions and state of mind.

MAKIKO, drawing inspiration from this art, merged her dance background, notably the free and intuitive dance aesthetics of 19th-century dancers Isadora Duncan and Loie Fuller. Their flowing dresses and the resulting play of light and shadow became central themes.

By fusing the rhythm and balance of calligraphy with the movements of dance, MAKIKO offers a deeply emotive and inspiring experience. Her work skillfully blends traditional calligraphy with innovative dance elements, providing a unique visual representation that elevates the aesthetic and spiritual qualities of both forms.
